Wagamama Seijaku Event and Autumn Menu

Celebrating Seijaku, the Japanese philosophy of finding calm and tranquillity, Wagamama launch their brand-new Autumn menu to help bring a moment of calm.

This autumn, Wagamama is celebrating Seijaku, a Japanese philosophy of finding calm and tranquillity in the midst of activity.

Offering a warm and safe sanctuary for guests, the British restaurant, which serves Asian food based on Japanese cuisine, has launched a brand-new Autumn menu inspired by Seijaku to help bring a moment of calm.

To mark the launch of their new menu, Wagamama invited Frankly My Dear UK to a special Seijaku event with iconic Japanese calligraphy master, Kashuu.

Taking place in their popular Trafford Centre restaurant, guests were greeted with the opportunity to try two of Wagamama’s all-new cocktail creations, named the Panchi.

Available as the Positive Panchi (spiced rum, pineapple, lime, spinach, cucumber and apple) and the High-Five Panchi (coconut rum, melon, pineapple, lemon, apple and orange juice), the new cocktails combine freshly squeezed juice with a warming shot of light or dark rum to help keep you warm during the colder weather. Beautifully presented, the new cocktails come in a large, round cocktail glass and are reasonably priced for their size.

Iconic Japanese calligraphy master, Kashuu, then took to the stage to guide the guests through a calligraphy masterclass. The Japanese believe that calligraphy and handwriting are considered a reflection of your character, offering an insight into your personality. Kashuu demonstrated how to draw beautiful strokes of black paint using your arm, rather than your wrist, to create the beautiful Japanese words for Serenity and Calm.

Guests were then invited to try out Wagamama’s extensive menu and sample the new soulful dishes. Eight new additions join the menu from October, including two main courses, two sides, two desserts and two new cocktails.

The gyoza (Japanese pan-fried or steamed dumplings) form the basis of many of the dishes. Two new sides are available, including five steamed salmon gyozas, alongside the return of the newly refreshed yasai gyoza, which now comes steamed with the addition of amazing green gyoza skins. The sides are a perfect sharing dish, with most guests sharing three between two, alongside their main course.

The highlight of the new Autumn menu is their new Gyoza Ramen dish, which offers two Wagamama icons in one bowl. The new Chicken Gyoza Ramen, which comes with five steamed chicken gyoza, ramen noodles, vegetable broth, roasted bok choi, half a tea-stained egg, chilli sambal paste, spring onion, coriander, chilli oil and a side of gyoza sauce, is the ultimate soul-warming experience. Simply immerse yourself in steam and heartily slurp the broth.

Vegetarian and vegan guests can indulge in the Yasai Gyoza Ramen, which combines five steamed yasai gyoza with udon noodles, vegetable broth, roasted bok choi, chilli sambal paste, spring onion, coriander, chilli oil and a side of gyoza sauce.

Two new desserts are also on offer as part of the new Autumn menu, including the all-new gluten-free and vegan-friendly yuzu and lemon cheesecake and dough chi, three cookie dough balls with an ice cream centre.

As the weather starts to turn and the summer sun is left behind, it’s great to see Wagamama embrace the changing seasons with its new menu. If you’re looking for a space to relax into the steam of a soul-lifting broth or to sip on green tea and connect, this is the place for you.
