Neelam Rehman reviews The Big Movie Quiz hosted by Alex Zane

It’s that time of year again. Fantastic trailers are stopping us from watching our desired YouTube videos, and our bank is screaming “You don’t have money!”  Great new movies are coming out soon, The Scorch Trials, Pan, Victor Frankenstein, Star Wars – The Force Awakens, to name a few.  No surprise then that many film lovers gathered together in the heart of London to take part in The Big Movie Quiz hosted by Alex Zane.

Movie Preview Network in association with State of the Art Cinema come together once again, to give film lovers all the upcoming trailers and film teasers for the next few months, as well as throw in an incredibly difficult film quiz. I’m not joking, I think I got 3 out of 41 right!

state of art posterThe event took place in The Strand Gallery, in London, where they are currently holding a film poster exhibition of all the upcoming and latest releases. It’s a free little exhibition that runs until the 28th August 2015, so if you fancy something different and love analysing film posters, head to The Strand Gallery. Did I mention that if you follow @MoviePreviewNet on Twitter, they often have competitions running, where if you head to the exhibition and say the secret word, you’ll bag a prize? How cool is that?!

Talking of prizes, let me take a moment to congratulate the winners of The Big Movie Quiz competition. Firstly, I am inspired by your film knowledge, and speediness for those who won on the spot prizes. Secondly, Movie Preview Network, could we possibly change the level of the quiz to General Knowledge?

Overall, the whole event was a fun little gathering. Film lovers in a small compact exhibition, surrounded by film posters and a 25,000 piece Lego sculpture of a cinema, and free refreshments, on a chilly wet English summer day? Now that is what I call a night out. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves as many people were mingling, and Alex Zane’s hosting skills yet again create a communal feeling of fun and sarcasm!

Don’t forget to follow @MoviePreviewNet for film news and great competitions.

State of the Art Cinema‘s film poster exhibition is on at The Strand Gallery, London and is open 9.30am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Admission free
