The Lowry has released details of its upcoming shows with a whopping 29 shows performing at the award-winning venue during February.
From musicals and plays to stand-up comedy and live music events, The Lowry certainly has something for everyone this month. We’ve picked out a handful of the best shows for you to catch below.
Shrek The Musical
Direct from the West End, SHREK THE MUSICAL takes to the stage at The Lowry’s Lyric Theatre from Tuesday 2 February to Saturday 20 February.
Based on the award-winning DreamWorks animation film, SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of unlikely hero Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey as they embark on a quest to rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona from a fire breathing, love -sick dragon.
Starring Lancashire-born Dean Chisnall (NEVER FORGET) as beloved swamp-dwelling ogre Shrek and Macclesfield’s Bronté Barbé (OVER THE RAINBOW) as Princess Fiona, this all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza is sure to entertain all the family and features all new songs as well as the cult Shrek anthem I’m a Believer.

The multi-award winning adaptation of Eimear McBride’s award-winning novel returns to the stage with Aoife Duffin in a career-defining role.

Lee Nelson: Suited and Booted
Comedian LEE NELSON returns to The Lowry Theatre on Sunday 7 February in an extension to his sell-out tour for 2016.
Out with the baseball cap and sportswear and in with a smart two-piece suit, Lee Nelson brings a new look, a new outlook and a brand new show to the Quays theatre, keeping the audience laughing with his cheeky-chappy clichés and witty one-liners.

Flown
Internationally acclaimed contemporary circus company Pirates of the Carabina take to the stage from 12 to 14 February with their award-winning show FLOWN.
Best known for their daring and beautifully choreographed aerial theatre performances, FLOWN is sure to delight with its captivating choreography and comic storyline.
Follow the motley crew of incredible acrobats, aerialists, musicians and stuntmen who tell the tale of trying to get the show on the road, as disagreements, fear and exhaustion threaten to sabotage the spectacle.

We’re Going On a Bear Hunt
Family favourite WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT returns to the Lowry from 17 to 21 February.
Based on Michael Rosen’s award-winning book, WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT is brought to life vividly and noisily as the intrepid adventurers set out on their quest to find a bear.
Watch as they wade through the gigantic swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the thick oozy, squelchy mud for a hands-on adventure that is sure to entertain the whole family.

Paul Carrack
Former frontman of Ace, Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics, Paul Carrack heads to the Lowry’s Lyric Theatre on Sunday 21 February as part of his 34-date UK tour.
The talented singer/songwriter, whose songs have been performed by some of the biggest names in music including The Eagles, Diana Ross and Tom Jones, will be performing hits from his extensive back catalogue including How Long, Tempted and The Living Years.

Paddy McGuinness
Comedian PADDY MCGUINNESS makes his long awaited return to stand-up with his 2016 tour Daddy McGuinness.
Sharing stories of becoming a father for the first time, PADDY MCGUINNESS’ performance at The Lowry is sure to sell out so you’d best be quick if you want to grab yourself a ticket.
The hotly anticipated tour sees Paddy perform 50 dates across the UK including two dates at The Lowry on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th February.

In The Vice Like Grip Of It
Devised by IVO theatre, new play IN THE VICE LIKE GRIP OF IT previews in The Studio at The Lowry from Friday 26th to Saturday 27th February.
The daring new play examines the relationships between governments and individuals in an age of mass surveillance and combines physical theatre with text for a unique theatrical experience.
Watch as a woman breaks the fourth wall of her home, speaking directly to the audience through the microphone in her smart phone and opens her laptop and an image of her face flickers across the wall. You watch her type: ‘I think I’m being watched’.

Finally, don’t miss the CLASSIC ROCK SHOW on Saturday 27 February at the Lyric Theatre.
