Celebratory performances of Macbeth and A Comedy of Errors to mark 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth
Spinningfields, Manchester is to host two open-air Shakespeare performances this July.
Macbeth and A Comedy of Errors will be performed by the GB Theatre Company at The Lawns between 18 and 20 July.
Sir Kenneth Branagh’s sister, Joyce Branagh is to star as Lady Macbeth in the celebratory performance to mark the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth. Other cast members include Mia Keadell, Aonghus Weber and Jenny Johns.
Manchester’s The Lawns has space for 400 theatre fans and is a popular al fresco location for summer entertainment including the weekly Screenfields film screenings.
Tickets for the Shakespeare on The Lawns are on sale now and are priced at £18 for adults and £14 for pensioners and children (under 16). Performances start at 7.30pm with a number of matinee performance also starting at 2.30pm.
